HAZLEHURST, Miss. (AP) - A former employee of a Jackson nursing home is going to prison for using a resident’s debit card without permission.

Attorney General Jim Hood says in a news release that 25-year-old Anttrannica Hardy of Jackson pleaded guilty Monday to one count of exploiting a vulnerable person.

Copiah County Circuit Judge Lamar Pickard sentenced Hardy to one year in prison and two years of probation.

Pickard ordered Hardy to pay full restitution of $2,691, plus $500 to the crime victims’ compensation fund and a $400 fine.

Hood says the crime occurred while Hardy was a certified nursing assistant at Pleasant Hill Community Living Center. An investigation showed she obtained a debit card of a resident of the facility and made purchases in Hinds and Copiah counties in May and June 2013.
