ST. LOUIS (AP) - Organizers of Fair St. Louis say the popular event during the July Fourth weekend will return to Forest Park next year.

The festival was moved to Forest Park this year from its usual home near the Gateway Arch because of renovation underway there. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1DlwRCX ) reported the move was criticized by some but skeptics agreed the event worked out well at the park.

Steve Pozaric, chairman of the next Fair St. Louis, declined to say whether Forest Park would become the fair’s permanent home.

Next year’s event will be the 35th year of Fair St. Louis.

The popular air show won’t return next year because logistics at the park don’t allow the shows. Organizers say the money for the air show will be used for other entertainment.
