BERLIN, N.J. (AP) - Police say a group therapy session turned violent in southern New Jersey.

Authorities have charged 32-year-old Ryan McCausland of Collingswood with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Berlin police tell the South Jersey Times (https://bit.ly/YUHwoO ) McCausland punched a counselor in the face on Tuesday and scuffled with another member of the group who tried to subdue him.

Police say McCausland brandished a pocket knife and stabbed 46-year-old Raymond DiDonato in the back and stomach.

Another member of the group disarmed McCausland.

DiDonato underwent surgery.
