TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Republican U.S. Rep. James Lankford - who is running for the U.S. Senate - is scheduled to speak at a congressional forum sponsored by the Tulsa Regional Chamber.

The event is Monday at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.

Lankford has represented central Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District for four years. He did not run for re-election - instead running for and winning the GOP nomination in a special U.S. Senate primary election in June.

Lankford will face Democratic State Sen. Connie Johnson and independent Mark Beard in November’s general election for the Senate seat being vacated with the pending retirement of Republican Sen. Tom Coburn.
