CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) - Acquaintances say the Eau Claire man who fell to his death with repairing a ham radio tower had been climbing similar towers for at least a decade.

Authorities say 59-year-old James Linstedt fell about 95 feet from a tower north of Chippewa Falls Tuesday evening.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (https://bit.ly/1qO0Ak0 ) reports Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk says it appears Linstedt was wearing a safety harness while on the 100-foot-tall tower, but as he moved around on the tower he was not safely strapped in.
