WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A 31-year-old man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting of a Newark man in Wilmington.

A New Castle County Superior Court jury convicted Jeffrey Kent on Thursday in the 2011 slaying of 63-year-old Dewey Lee.

Prosecutors say that Kent rode up on a bicycle and shot Lee in his pickup truck. Lee stepped on the gas and sent the truck crashing into a tree. He died at a hospital.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports (https://delonline.us/XMVnfH) that prosecutors did not offer a motive for the slaying.

Kent faces a minimum sentence of life in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
