RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - More ads are filling North Carolina’s airwaves in the U.S. Senate race, considered one of the most expensive in the country.

Sen. Kay Hagan and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announced Thursday they’re spending nearly $1 million on radio ads on stations tailored to black listeners. The commercial blames Republican challenger Thom Tillis and other GOP lawmakers for education cuts, tax breaks for the wealthy and new voting restrictions.

The Freedom Partners Action Fund also said this week it’s running two television ads through the end of the month criticizing Hagan for her support for President Barack Obama’s signature health care law and for continued problems with health care for veterans. The fund linked to financiers Charles and David Koch says it’s spending “six figures” on the ads.
