CLEVELAND (AP) - A northeast Ohio man has been indicted on charges that accuse him of cutting the throat of his longtime girlfriend who had gone to court to try to stop his alleged abuse.

Prosecutors say 45-year-old Hector Almazan was indicted Wednesday on charges that include aggravated murder, kidnapping and domestic violence.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer (https://bit.ly/1uJLzih ) reports 53-year-old Aura Morales was killed outside her home in an eastside neighborhood on Tuesday as her teenage children slept inside.

The children say they heard her screaming outside and found her body on the back porch.

Authorities say Almazan fled to Marshall, Missouri, where he was arrested later Tuesday. Attorney information wasn’t available.
