SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Police say three men were stabbed multiple times Wednesday night in a northeast Spokane neighborhood and one was described as critically injured.

Police later said two people had been detained and detectives would interview both to determine possible charges. They said no one else is being sought.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Lt. Craig Meidl says the injured men were stabbed in the street in front of a home where at least one of them lives.

Police and neighbors said the stabbings may have been linked to a fight earlier in the day when the three men confronted a fourth man as a result of damage to a car.

Meidl says the victims suffered serious, multiple wounds to their arms, legs, torso and back.
