MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A woman charged with the kidnapping and robbery of a man who was beaten, shot and left for dead near Interstate 90 east of Missoula has pleaded not guilty.

The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/1pkDb38) 34-year-old Katherine Evans entered her plea Thursday in District Court.

Evans’ defense attorney asked for a reduction in the $500,000 bail saying Evans played a minor role in the incident. Although bail was not reduced, Evans can be screened for pretrial supervision.

Evans’ alleged accomplice, Troy Anthony Miller, is charged with robbery and attempted deliberate homicide in the July 16 shooting. He remains jailed on $500,000 bail.

The victim told police he had asked Miller and Evans for a ride to downtown Missoula. Instead, he said they continued out of town and turned off the highway where Miller shot him in the neck and shoulder.
