GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A man is being held on a $2 million bond in the beating and stabbing death of a man in Greenville two years ago.

Multiple media outlets reported that 29-year-old Manuel Lewis Diaz has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 57-year-old David Knox.

Knox was found dead in his house May 12, 2012. He had been stabbed 20 times and had several head injuries.

Greenville police said earlier this week that DNA tests from evidence found in Knox’s car led to the arrest of Diaz.

It was not clear if Diaz has an attorney.
