WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Natural resources officials say the swinging bridge in Brandywine Park in Wilmington has reopened after two months of renovations and upgrades.

Officials with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said Thursday that work on the bicycle and pedestrian bridge included new timber decking and metal hardware, as well as cleaning and repainting. Work also increased compliance with requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The bridge, built in 1909, crosses Brandywine Creek and connects the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail and South Park Drive.
