SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say they’ve charged a 23-year-old man with firing a gun in a Syracuse park where a large group of adults and children had gathered after a youth football game.

Sgt. Thomas Connellan says Kareem Huggins of Syracuse has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Police say witnesses identified Huggins as the man who fired a gun near a basketball court at Kirk Park on the afternoon of Sept. 7. The gunfire erupted as several hundred people were enjoying a party after a Pop Warner football game held at a nearby field.

No one was injured.

Huggins is scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Court later Friday morning. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
