TITLE: Former Republican governor of Connecticut, elected to three terms and served from 1994 to 2004. Resigned in 2004.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in 1980 at the age of 23, serving four years; elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1984 at the age of 27, serving six years. Served as chairman of the Republican Governors Association from 2001 to 2002.

PERSONAL: Married to Patricia Rowland. He has three children from a previous marriage and a stepson. Another stepson has died.
