MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after two people fly fishing spotted a body in the Uncompahgre River in Montrose.

Police Cmdr. Gene Lillard tells The Montrose Daily Press (https://bit.ly/1yjVYpP ) the body was found wedged in a brush pile at about 9:15 a.m. Thursday. The victim’s name and age have not been released.

Lillard says “we’re treating it as a homicide at this point until we find out otherwise.”

The body may have been in the water for several days before it was found.
