KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - A special event to offer nighttime shopping at the farmers market Kalamazoo drew a big crowd - and hopes that such late hours will take place again.

The Kalamazoo Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1uZSvHd ) hundreds of people turned out Thursday night to browse and shop from more than 40 vendors.

Kalamazoo resident Tom Howes says it offered “something really different for downtown.” There also was a DJ, live music, food trucks and a cash bar.

The market’s regular hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays in May through November and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in June through October.
