BLUFFTON, S.C. (AP) - Experts on human trafficking are meeting in Bluffton for a conference.

The Lowcountry Coalition Against Human Trafficking is holding a conference at Palmetto Electric featuring local, state, national and international experts. Friday’s conference is sold out.

Organizers say they want to raise public awareness of this form of modern-day slavery and give attendees a thorough understanding of the issue.

There will be highlights of an Operation Dark Night case that involved Florida, George and the Carolinas.

Speakers include Solicitor Duffie Stone and representatives from the FBI and the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force.
