TOLEDO, Iowa (AP) - A December trial has been scheduled for an Iowa man charged with the murder of his wife in Tama.

The Tama County trial for Dustin Jefferson, 39, originally was set to begin on April 20. He’s charged with the slaying of Kerry O’Clair-Jefferson on Sept. 25, 2013.

A district court trial date opened up, so a judge rescheduled the murder trial to begin on Dec. 1, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier said (https://bit.ly/1ww4Wf7 ). Jefferson’s trial on five counts of sexual abuse as a habitual offender was delayed until March 23.

His mother, Ginger Jefferson, in May was convicted of murder for her role in the knifing of her son’s wife.
