CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Some ski resorts have taken advantage of the unseasonably low temperatures by testing their snowmaking machines.

Mark Butterfield of the Omni Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods Ski Area tells WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1qRInBW) the equipment was tested Friday morning as temperatures dropped into the 20s.

An opening date for the ski season at Bretton Woods has been set yet.

Overnight lows plunged into the 20s in the northern part of New Hampshire, and in the 30s elsewhere. A freeze warning was issued through Friday morning.

Midday temperatures were in the 50s.

It’s expected to warm up over the weekend, with temperatures getting into the 70s on Sunday. But a cold front is forecast to follow on Sunday night.
