ST. LOUIS (AP) - A suburban St. Louis school is closed and a rental car parking lot flooded following a massive water main break.

The break happened early Friday in the area of Natural Bridge Road and Woodson Road, not far from Lambert Airport. Missouri American Water spokeswoman Ann Dettmer says a 20-inch diameter main ruptured before 7 a.m.

Only a few customers were without water but the break forced Kratz Elementary School to close for the day because the supply of water to the building was shut off.

Water also flooded the parking lot of National Car Rental, but flooding didn’t make it to nearby Interstate 70 or the airport.
