CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say three people have been arrested in connection with three Craigslist robberies.

A statement from police said 19-year-old Deonte Stitt and 21-year-old Tadarian Lindsey are charged in the three robberies that occurred on Aug. 17, Aug, 19 and Aug. 28. The first and last robberies occurred in the same vicinity. The third suspect is a 16-year-old male.

In each instance, the victims told police they responded to online Craigslist ads to buy a cell phone and agreed to meet at a location, but they instead were physically assaulted and robbed.

Lindsey faces several charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon. Stitt also faces multiple charges, as does the 16-year-old.

All three are being held in the Mecklenburg County jail, where records don’t say if they have attorneys.
