TROY, N.Y. (AP) - Police say they have arrested two suspects in the beating deaths of a husband and wife at their home in Troy.

Troy Police Chief John Tedesco says Tuesday that Daniel Reuter and Jacob Heimroth, both 33, were arrested on murder charges.

Fifty-one-year-old Michael Allen Lockrow and 59-year-old Marie Lockrow were assaulted early Wednesday morning at their home in the city’s Lansingburgh section.

Tedesco says the suspects knew the victims. He says Heimroth lives in Troy and Reuter was homeless. The chief did not provide a possible motive.

The couples’ stolen SUV was found burned out in a corn field in neighboring Columbia County.

Information on whether Reuter and Heimroth have lawyers wasn’t initially available.
