LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Construction work at the Big Rock interchange in west Little Rock will force the closure of Shackleford Road beneath the new lanes of Interstate 630.

The interstate and Financial Centre Parkway will remain open, but no traffic will be allowed to cross it. Northbound Shackleford traffic will be routed onto I-630 eastbound. Drivers wanting to go farther north on Shackleford will need to go through two cloverleafs and re-enter Shackleford north of the construction area.

Southbound traffic will be diverted onto Financial Centre Parkway westbound and then to Hermitage Road.

Crews are removing safety platforms and painting steel beams on the new I-630 bridge over Shackleford.

The detour will be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday night and lasting through Friday morning.
