JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Brian Tolley is leaving as executive editor of The Clarion-Ledger to lead two newspapers in South Carolina.
Tolley has held the top newsroom job since March 2012 at the daily newspaper in Mississippi’s capital city and owned by Gannett Co.
The Clarion-Ledger reported (https://on.thec-l.com/1w47CAm ) that Tolley announced his plans Tuesday. He will become executive editor of The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette, both based in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The Clarion-Ledger’s new publisher, Jason Taylor, says the search for a new executive editor will begin immediately.
