BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A Libyan woman who made headlines during Libya’s civil war when she said she was raped by Moammar Gadhafi’s troops is facing a trial on assault charges in Colorado.

Iman al-Obeidi, now known as Eman Ali, was granted asylum in the United States in 2011 and settled in Boulder.

The Daily Camera (https://bit.ly/1nwv2ZZ) reports that Ali is accused of pouring a beer on a woman and later throwing a glass at her head at a bar in February. She has pleaded not guilty.

She was arrested twice before on allegations of excessive drinking. A judge ruled Tuesday that those cases can only be admitted at her October trial if she raises a self-defense argument or claims the February incident was an accident.
