PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A drunken man who yelled “White Power!” at a stranger, then dragged the man into a Portland street and beat him, has been sentenced to five years in prison.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/mTqOIO ) that 37-year-old Frederick Edward Miller III was sentenced Tuesday.

Authorities say that after hearing Miller shout, Angelo Finzo responded by saying: “Excuse me?” Prosecutor Chris Mascal says Miller began beating Finzo, dragged him into a street and kicked the man with steel-toed boots last Feb. 13.

Finzo suffered abrasions on his knees, bruises on his ribs and lumps on his head.

The prosecutor says a woman who rushed to Finzo’s aid was punched in the face.

In a plea bargain, Miller pleaded no contest to second- and fourth-degree assault.
