SEAFORD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man impersonating a police officer stopped a motorist near Seaford.

It happened about 10:45 p.m. Monday on Coverdale Road. Troopers say a woman was driving when a vehicle began to follow closely behind and activated police emergency-type lights on the front.

Police say the woman pulled onto the shoulder and a man with a handgun in a holster and a radio on his hip walked to her car.

Officers say the man asked about her driving, but the woman became suspicious and said she was calling 911.

The man got back into his car and drove away.
