ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man accused of having killed his estranged wife in front of their three children has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

The (Easton) Express-Times (https://bit.ly/W6kQzJ ) reports that 38-year-old Win Min Htut (Toot) entered the plea Tuesday in Lehigh County Court. He faces a mandatory life term without parole, and prosecutors said he would give up his right to appeal.

Prosecutors said he shot 37-year-old Thida Nyint on Dec. 17 outside their Bethlehem home in front of the couple’s 16-year-old daughter, 10-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. He was later arrested at a convenience store with the toddler, who was unhurt.

Police said Htut told officers that he pointed the gun at his wife when she fell and he tried to grab the toddler but the gun went off.
