NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee’s Adjutant General will award the Soldier’s Medal to four Tennessee National Guard members.

According to the Guard, the medal is for individuals who have distinguished themselves by an act of heroism not involving conflict with an enemy. By regulation, that act must have involved “personal hazard or danger and the voluntary risk of life.”

Maj. Gen. Max Haston will present the awards on Wednesday at the Tennessee National Guard Headquarters in Nashville.

Also on Wednesday, Haston will recognize the 2,000th Tennessee Guard member employed through the Tennessee National Guard Employment Team. The team helps unemployed Tennessee National Guard soldiers and airmen and their family members find work.
