CLARION, Iowa (AP) - A jury has been seated in the trial of a man charged with killing a Rockwell City police officer.

The 14-person jury was seated Tuesday afternoon in the first-degree murder trial of 33-year-old Corey Trott. The group was selected from a pool of more than 100 people.

Prosecutors say Trott fatally shot Jamie Buenting in September 2013 during a standoff at Trott’s house. Officers were trying to arrest Trott after an alleged assault on his mother.

Trott has pleaded not guilty. The trial was moved to Wright County at the request of defense attorneys.
