GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A home health care provider in upstate South Carolina is expanding and expects to create almost 170 new jobs during the next decade.

The state Department of Commerce announced Tuesday that Providence Home Care of SC based in Greenville plans to invest about $3 million in the expansion.

The company now provides skilled nursing care, personal care and transportation to South Carolina Medicare and Medicaid patients. It is expanding to include skilled nursing care to private clients as well as providing additional behavioral health care to Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Providence Home Care currently has about 30 employees.
