WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Family and friends of a missing 14-year-old West Warwick girl say they remain hopeful she’ll return home, and they want her to know that many people love her.

About 75 people gathered for a candlelight vigil for Khia Lake on Monday evening.

Family, friends and police have searched the area several times for Khia, who was last seen Aug. 20. Police said she has gone missing before, but never for this long.

The teen was last seen wearing a black V-neck top and black shorts with the word “Dancer” on the back. She is described as 5-foot-3 and about 120 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair and a ring on her lower lip.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call West Warwick police.
