MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Prosecutors say a Shelby County man will not be charged in a double shooting that left one woman dead.

WMC-TV in Memphis (https://bit.ly/XBaGYk ) reports that the district attorney opted not to pursue a case in the death of 31-year-old Melania Cook.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between a man and his girlfriend and that Cook, the girlfriend’s sister, showed up with a gun.

Police say Cook and the man got into an argument and they both pulled guns on each other, and fired shots.

Cook died on the scene; the man, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
