FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash at a Fayetteville intersection.

Fayetteville police said Sunday the driver of a Dodge Magnum was traveling on Owen Drive from Camden Road towards Gillespie Street at a high rate of speed and crashed into a Ford Taurus that was traveling on Gillespie Street towards Eastern Boulevard.

The driver of the Taurus was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for treatment.

A passenger inside of the Taurus transported by helicopter to UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill.

The names of the dead and injured have not yet been released, but police said one of the people being treated for injuries is a child.
