TEA, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say an 88-year-old woman is dead after she ran a stop sign and another vehicle collided with hers.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Caryl Ann Rand died at a Sioux Falls hospital from injuries she suffered in the crash at an intersection in Tea.

Authorities say the Marion woman failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection, where her 2003 Chevrolet Impala was struck by a 2012 GMC Acadia. The crash sent both vehicles into a ditch.

Authorities say the driver and two passengers in the vehicle that struck Rand’s car suffered minor injuries.

The occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
