CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - The Polk County sheriff’s office says an 8-year-old boy was critically injured when he fell about 20 to 25 feet in a barn south of Monmouth.

The boy was helping a relative in the barn on Saturday afternoon when he fell through a hole to the next level below.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later flower to Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland.

Authorities did not identify the boy Saturday night.
