CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of wrecks on Interstate 77 caused by cinder blocks on the road.

Sheriff’s Cpl. Brian Humphreys says the wrecks occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday and involved about 10 vehicles. No one was injured. Most of the damage involved flat tires, busted fluid lines and bent wheels.

Humphreys says the blocks were in both the northbound and southbound lanes between mile markers 96 and 97. The Division of Highways removed the blocks and the interstate reopened around 9:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
