NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Two electric vehicle charging stations have been installed at Niagara Falls International Airport.

New York state officials say they are part of a plan to have 3,000 charging stations statewide by 2018.

The state hopes that expanding the network of charging stations will get more people to drive plug-in cars.

The New York Power Authority and Energy Research and Development Authority plan to put in 100 stations by the end of this year at 37 locations, including three at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Authorities say there are about 10,000 plug-in vehicles on the road in New York today.
