BETHEL, Maine (AP) - Police say a woman from Vermont was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Bethel.

Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant tells The Sun Journal of Lewiston (https://bit.ly/1ppcgTS) that the victim was 60-year-old Arlene Shepler, of Randolph, Vermont. The crash happened on U.S. Route 2 at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gallant says Shepler was traveling east with her husband, David.

Their car struck a pickup truck driven by John Russell of Gainesville, Texas, and a pickup truck driven by David Butler of Johnson, Vermont.

The three men were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
