DALLAS (AP) - American Airlines says two flights that originated in Dallas had to make emergency landings two minutes apart because of unrelated mechanical problems.

Spokeswoman Laura Masivdal says no injuries were reported after the flights returned early Monday morning to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

A flight to Fresno, California, with 140 passengers landed at 12:21 a.m. because of unspecified mechanical issues.

A jumbo jet with more than 220 passengers was three hours into a flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina, when the pilot declared an in-flight emergency because of a pressurization problem.

Passengers tell KTVT-TV that the flight had nearly reached Cancun, Mexico, when the aircraft turned around. It landed at the Dallas airport at 12:23 a.m.
