NORTH BERGEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the motorcyclist who was killed when his bike crashed into a guardrail on a northern New Jersey roadway last weekend.

Hudson County authorities tell NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1paPiAH) that 29-year-old Thomas Fischkelta of Jersey City apparently was speeding on Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen when he crashed into a wall around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The motorcycle landed on its side, and Fischkelta was thrown from the bike, sliding about 376 feet along the highway.

Fischkelta was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say his license had been suspended, but further details were not disclosed.

A stretch of Tonnelle Avenue was closed for several hours after the crash occurred.
