MANILA, Utah (AP) - Crews have recovered the body of a fisherman whose boat capsized three weeks ago on Flaming Gorge Reservoir in eastern Utah.

Daggett County sheriff’s officials say the body of 69-year-old Riverton, Utah resident Charles Darrell Thomas was pulled from the water on Sunday morning.

He’d been missing since Sept. 1, when his small motor boat capsized on choppy waters between the Antelope Flats area and Lucerne Marina.

Thomas’ girlfriend was also in the boat and was able to swim to shore and get help.

Authorities say a Utah Department of Public Safety dive team using side-scan sonar spotted the body on Saturday evening. It was in about 200 feet of water and was in the middle of the bay, about 200 feet from where the boat was found.
