DETROIT (AP) - A Ferndale detective has won a singing competition for southeastern Michigan police, firefighters and military members.

Comerica Bank announced Monday that Brendan Moore is the winner of the Home of the Brave National Anthem Singing Contest.

Moore gets a $10,000 grant for his station, the chance to sing the anthem before the Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park on Saturday, and 35 tickets to the game.

The bank says it hosted the contest as a way of supporting and thanking area police, firefighters and military members for their bravery and dedication to the community and country.

Contestants submitted videos of themselves singing the national anthem.

A panel of judges from the Tigers and Comerica Bank narrowed submissions down to the finalists before opening the contest up for public voting.
