MASSILLON, Ohio (AP) - Police in the northeast Ohio city of Massillon were trying to identity a woman killed when a tree apparently fell on her in a park.

Massillon police say they were called to South Sippo Park at about 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

Massillon Assistant Fire Chief Larry Layne says firefighters found the woman still breathing and rushed her to a local hospital, where she died.

Layne says a large tree fell from the hillside next to the park and struck the woman. She was found on the walking path. Layne suspects high wind gusts at the time played a part in the tree falling.

Stark County Coroner Chief Investigator Harry Campbell tells The Independent newspaper (https://bit.ly/1ylR63n ) that the woman died from her injuries, but he had no other information.
