SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Italy’s prime minister will be cutting the ribbon on a new Italian-American school campus in San Francisco.

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is scheduled to visit the city on Monday to dedicate a new kindergarten-through-eighth-grade campus for Italy’s international school, according to the San Francisco Examiner (https://bit.ly/1tVOfdA ).

The Italian international school La Scuola was established 14 years ago for Italian-American families in the Bay area seeking more connection with their Italian heritage. Renzi has sought to make education a priority for his administration back home in Italy.

Renzi is also expected to meet with the heads of Yahoo and Twitter and local tech entrepreneurs in an effort to promote Italian start-ups.
