NORTH VERNON, Ind. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a man who was found on the grounds of a southern Indiana hospital.

North Vernon police say officers were called to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital because of suspicious activity outside the hospital about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Those officers found an unresponsive man in a grassy area of the hospital property.

The Tribune of Seymour reports (https://bit.ly/1rrsxNR ) police identified the man as 53-year-old Gary Fields of Seymour.

Police say Fields was pronounced dead at the hospital in the city about 60 miles south of Indianapolis. An autopsy is planned to determine what caused his death.
