ST. LOUIS (AP) - The candidates for St. Louis County’s top elected position will square off in a debate on Oct. 14.

St. Louis Public Radio (https://bit.ly/1rmemtj) is hosting the debate of county executive candidates in partnership with the University of Missouri-St. Louis. It will feature Democratic county councilman Steve Stenger of Affton and Republican Rick Stream.

Stenger defeated incumbent Charlie Dooley in the August primary. Stream is a state representative from Kirkwood.

The general election is Nov. 4.

The debate will last an hour and will start at noon Oct. 14 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. St. Louis Public Radio political reporters Jo Mannies and Jason Rosenbaum will be panelists, and Don Marsh will be host. The debate will be broadcast live on St. Louis Public Radio.
