CRYSTAL, Minn. (AP) - Crystal police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect who tried to hurt the department’s only police dog.

Authorities say early Saturday, someone entered the parking lot of the Crystal Police Department and threw a 40-pound brick through the back window of the department’s K9 squad car. The department’s police dog, Rocco, was seated in the backseat but was not harmed.

The suspect ran away. Police say the brick apparently was picked up close to the police department.

Rocco has been a member of the department since May of 2013. The Crystal Crime Prevention Fund is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
