LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a boy was killed in a shooting at a Las Vegas intersection over the weekend.

Police say they were called at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to Stampa Avenue, where the victim was lying in a driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

His name and age haven’t yet been released.

Authorities say the shooting happened while the victim and four others were in a vehicle at a red light at Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard. Investigators say a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to them and a conversation began between people in the two cars.

Someone in the dark-colored vehicle pulled out a gun and fired at the car, hitting the boy in the passenger seat.

The suspect vehicle fled.
