HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - William Carey University President Tommy King has been elected chairman-elect of the Consortium for Global Education, a nonprofit organization committed to quality programs of international education.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1skHDXn ) King’s election occurred during the consortium’s 27th annual meeting at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

The consortium, founded in 1987, works to internationalize higher education through student and faculty global participation.

Members of the consortium are located in 22 stated, with affiliate members representing key national universities throughout the world.
